Focus: Acute and chronic injuries to the shoulder joint

  • Bursitis: inflammation of the bursa between the acromion and humeral head

  • Impingement syndrome: “pinching” caused by a narrow space between the acromion and humeral head

  • Tendinitis: inflammation of the long biceps tendon (LBS)

  • Tendinosis calcarea: calcium deposits in one or more shoulder tendons

  • Rotator cuff rupture: partial or complete rupture of the shoulder tendon

  • Dislocations: Dislocation of the shoulder joint due to trauma or instability

  • AC dislocation: dislocation of the acromioclavicular joint (acromioclavicular joint)

  • Frozen shoulder: Stiffening of the shoulder joint due to capsular shrinkage

  • Osteoarthritis: abrasion of the shoulder joint
